I'm trying to install the WinUsb driver for one of my device but the installation doesn't succeed and throws away the following error message :
Forwent by Office 2003, the 2007 version has seen major overhauling in this office suite that is being used around the globe by millions of users.
' A problem was encountered while attempting to add the driver to the store'
- To give you some more context, I'm trying to install it on a Windows 10 machine. On VS 2015, I've created a 'WinUsb INF driver install package' and I did some minor modifications to the template INF file provided such as typing in the adequate vid&pid number associated with the device and changing the manufacturer name.
- Our next step is to streamline the user experience to something like: 1. Install our application, which can run some WinUSB driver installer 2. Plug-in the dongle 3. Windows 7/8/10 should recognize it and use the WinUSB driver supplied in step 1. The dongle comes pre-loaded with firmware, which I cannot modify.
USB driver installation made easy. Zadig is a Windows application that installs generic USB drivers, such as WinUSB. Embedded drivers: WinUSB v6.1.7600.16385, libusb-win32 v1.2.6.0, libusbK v3.0.7.0 & usbser (native) Other Versions; Source Code. Libwdi 1.3.0 source (321 KB). Includes Zadig in the examples directory. Prior to Windows 8 if you choose Winusb.sys as the function driver for your device, you have to write a custom INF (see Writing an.Inf File for WinUSB Installation, and then install the driver on the target machine. The custom INF must specify your device specific hardware ID and also include sections from the inbox Winusb.inf. If you just click on it, the SDK manager will start, but will encounter errors when you try to install new components! In the SDK Manager select 'Extras-Google USB Driver'. Enable the checkbox and click 'Install 1 Package'. When the Google USB driver is installed, plug in your device. Warning: The driver won't install automatically.
Any idea what could the problem be ? There is no associated error code or log file and I haven't found any relevant information on the internet about that problem for the WinUsb driver so it's difficult to figure out by my own.

I'm able to successfuly install the driver on a virtual machine running as well Windows10 by right clicking the INF file and selecting 'install'. (The virtual machine is configured in WDK debugger mode) but the same process on my 'real' machine throws the aforementionned error message.
I suspect it has something to do with the signature of the driver but it shouldn't happen as the WinUsb driver is signed (which makes it, inter alia, so interesting to use).
Any hint to solve this issue would be very much appreciated,

According to the MS website at..
This error message means'Your driver package isn't signed or isn't signed correctly.'
This is a Win OS security feature to help prevent malware from impersonating a device driver and getting system low level access.
A possible temporary solution to test this theory (and is a high security risk) would be to disable the security check. Instructions to do this is located here.
